Man nothing beats Grandmas Cookin during the holidays!

Christmas this year was pretty good, got to go to Emporia to visit the family and open gifts. Mom and Dad bought me some great shoes, and clothes. The kids got some great gifts from Nana and Papa too. Caroline got this Dallas Cowboys Snuggie that she is in love with, and a REALLY nice Dallas Cowboys fleece blanket, that is HUGE and fits like a comforter on our queen bed!

Our grandparents got us some nice gifts too, and my cousins gave us pretty cool gifts too. We ate way too much, and just had some great fellowship time. My grandma makes some of the best homemade cheesecake that has ever existed, it just MELTS in your mouth. Its in a square pan, and you have to spoon it out, cause its so light and fluffy. And she makes a very good ham and ham gravy! Man nothing beats Grandmas Cookin during the holidays! I think I have gained like 20 pounds since Thanksgiving!

Mom is doing good, she still has to go to the restroom a lot. I guess her bladder spasms all the time due to lack of control caused by the stroke. Dad says that she has to go at least 2 times an hour. Some times its like all they do is go to the restroom all day. At night he gets up with her at least once or twice. Its a pretty sorry situation, and I know its driving him nuts! Mom doesn't like it either of course, but she knows that it is making him angry when she has to get him up at night to pee.

Please keep up your prayers for recovery for mom. Its seems like she has plateaued in her progress, and while I am thankful for how far she has come, I am really wanting her to progress a lot more. I would like to see her get back to being able to take care of herself for the most part, like going to the restroom on her own. Dad is consumed now with taking care of mom, and really has no time for anything else. He is a patient man but his limits have been hit time and time again. I know he will never leave her or give up on her but if things don't get better I fear he will become very bitter and hard hearted.

I am still trying to get this mobile phone kiosk business up and running. In the meantime I plan to get a job, and I have an interview with Enterprise Rental Car next Friday. Caroline got a job driving school busses for USD 259. It doesn't pay much but she wanted to do it so I said go for it...

Thanks for reading my blog and keeping my whole family in your thoughts and prayers!
