The Orange Conference

Sorry I haven't posted a blog in a long time; I’ve been lazy, and at the same time I’ve been real busy.  But I thought it was time to go ahead and post a blog today… since I went to the Orange Conference last week, I have a lot to talk about.

Last week was an amazing time of worship, teaching, and fellowship.  I'm really glad I got to go on the trip; I was invited by my kids pastor Rochelle, and it was really a great time.  I learned a lot about how important the kids ministry is to the growth and development of the church.  In fact the kids ministry really is the future of the church and your children will grow up to inherit the ministry that you have today.  Pastor Perry Noble spoke a little bit about how vital the kids ministry is to the church.  In fact he said it was the most important ministry the church could ever possibly have.  Perry even went on to say that the senior pastor of every church should champion the kids ministry, he should be the number one supporter of your children and youth ministry in your church.  I for one agree with him.

I took a lot of notes while at the Orange Conference in Atlanta and I think I've got about five pages worth.  I plan on sharing my notes with everybody in the group that went to Orange and I hope that they share their notes with me.  This experience has really changed my perception of the kids ministry and the youth ministry at Grace Point.  I realize now how vital my role is in the ministry and how important it is to share what I know about Christ with kids at an early age.  If I can impact and influence young minds for Christ, and help shape their hearts and lives, then I believe I will be truly fulfilling God's plan for my life.

By the way, this entire blog was created using voice recognition dictation with Microsoft Windows 7.  Pretty cool huh?
